Samy Has Issues.

Samy is running for the Iowa House of Representatives because there are core issues that he believes are vital to our community and worth standing up for. As a teacher, he wants to better our education system and help the kids within the system. As a father and husband, he will always fight for reproductive rights and the rights of women. As a citizen of the state, he wants to rebuild the middle class by supporting local businesses and raising the minimum wage.

Samy has a long history of standing up for what he believes in.  We need someone in the house that can stand up to Kim Reynolds and Samy has the drive, courage, and teacher voice to make a difference and protect EVERYONE who calls themselves a resident of Iowa.

  • Adequate and Timely State Supplemental Aid (SSA) so Districts Can Budget

Public Education is a Public Good

The purpose of compulsory free public education was to ensure that our economy had the skilled workforce needed to drive economic growth. Funding public education is the core of a state’s mission in serving its citizens.

One of the most important factors young families consider when relocating is the quality of the school system. If Iowa is to prosper and be a place that our citizens want to stay and be a destination for those seeking a better life, we must ensure that our schools not only attract and retain families, but that we graduate the workforce of tomorrow.

Iowa is failing our children and families. Iowa has a budget surplus of over $1.8 billion! A fraction of this money would move us toward creating world-class schools for our children.

We must be better

Those who are or want to start families are looking for a place that is not only welcoming to them but offers a higher quality of life:

Good jobs, affordable housing, quality schools, excellent healthcare, accessible childcare, and

a community that looks out for each other.

Any economy is super-charged by innovation and entrepreneurial growth.  Iowa is losing our young people, particularly those with college educations that offer greater opportunities elsewhere. Our economy also desperately needs young people to enter the trades. Vocational training and apprenticeships are a direct path to a middle-class life.

“The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members.”

~~~~~  Gandhi
Diversity is a superpower.
It is our diversity and uniqueness that make Iowa a welcoming home and a destination for those looking to relocate.
Iowa historically has been
a progressive beacon of ingenuity, human rights, and equality.
We must create an environment that honors diversity of all kinds, creates a welcoming culture, and prioritizes care for its citizens.
When we perceive that our government does not see us, or value us, or overtly passes laws that marginalize us, we leave.
We must make Iowa once again a place that dignifies and honors each person’s unique character and qualities.
Iowa is for EVERYONE
